Parts
Four of the five figures follow the same rule. Which figure does not belong?
Tip: Go through the features one by one: outer shape, inner shape, number, colour. The figure that is the only one to differ on a feature the other four share is your answer.
Find the relationship between the words.
Tip: For an analogy, first make a sentence from the first pair (“a doctor works in a hospital”) and fill in that sentence with the third word. For “does not belong”: find the category four words share.
Which number comes next in the series?
Tip: Write down the differences between the numbers. If you see no pattern there, look at multiplying, at alternating, or at the sum of the previous two.
Which option is the same shape, only rotated? Mirrored shapes do not count.
Tip: Pick one striking part, such as the coloured block or a protrusion, and check where it should be after rotating. If the side (left or right of it) is wrong, it is mirrored.
Compare the codes on the left with the codes on the right. How many rows are exactly the same?
Tip: Compare in chunks of three characters, not the whole code at once. Speed counts, but a mistake costs as much as a skipped block.
