Assume the two statements are true. Does the conclusion follow?

Tip: Quickly draw two or three circles (Venn) on paper. Look for one drawing in which the statements hold but the conclusion does not: then the answer is “cannot say”.

Solve the word problems. No calculator: use pen and paper.

Tip: First write the sum out in words (“new = old × 0.85”). Only round at the end. For VAT: price including ÷ 1.21 = price excluding.
